Tips for cutting aluminum
  • Anti-high-reflection laser must be equipped on the fiber laser cutting machine to cut high-reflectivity materials, so as to prevent damages caused by aluminum reflection to the laser and core parts.
  • Because that the aluminum can not withstand high temperatures, so during the fiber laser cutting process it is essential to concentrate on process control. It is more challenging to control the cutting process for aluminum parts which are more likely to cause burrs when compared to cutting other metals.
  • Cutting speed must be fine-tuned, because cutting too quickly will cause burrs while too slowly will damage the aluminum parts.
  • Nitrogen is recommended as auxiliary gas, which can prevent oxidation while maintaining the property of aluminum.
  • When the power supply reaches 3000w, the recommended cutting thickness is below 8mm; When 6000w, the thickness is below 16mm; When 10000w, below 20mm.
